A Bad Joke

A bad joke may endanger the teller and often endure an astonishing outpouring of hostility from the listener or listeners. These attacks were intended to result in the social exclusion or humiliation of the speaker, punctuated on occasion with profanity, a nasty glare or even a solid punch to the arm. This happens when the speaker failed to humor the listener, a predominant reaction. Common among comics, it takes all their confidence and willpower to successfully humor the audience. Video surveillance often caught these humiliations and sadly are being used, sold and aired over and over in some tv stations where humiliation humors the viewers.
