- Begin talking to the person in a soothing and clam voice.
- Next have them take some slow yet deep breaths. Keep repeating this to them until you feel that they have reached a very relaxed state.
- Next tell them to focus on various part of their body. Start at one end and work your way to the other. You want to say something like “Now relax your arms, let me relax until they feel light as a feather.” Continue until their whole body is relaxed.
- Next, ask the person to tell you about things that worry them. You want them to open up. Keep this process going for about 15 minutes. Your subject should be fully hypnotized.
- When re-awakening them from the hypnotized state, count from 10 to 1 slowly and then ask them to open their eyes when you snap your finger.
