It’s pretty fair to say, I think, that these are troubled times for lots of people: maybe even for most people. In life, of course, there will always be something to cope with, whether it be money problems, problems with health, or problems with relationships. In today’s environment, however, you can add what seems to be a worldwide financial collapse to these life typical difficulties. Put it all together, and circumstances today can rapidly take on the appearance of being almost too overwhelming to deal with.

What one typically wonders during diffult times, naturally, is whether or not something can be done to improve the situation. There are instances when it’s fairly obvious what steps can be taken to make a situation better. At other points in time, a situation appears entirely a person’s control to impact in any sort of positive way: it’s out of one’s hands, so to speak. It wouldn’t be overly difficult to find the climate of today to be one of poor prospects, where the best outlook may be to simply hope things improve.

There’s one outlook however that claims any difficulty can not only be improved, but can be solved entirely. This particular perspective insists that all problems, of any sort, are actually internal experiences, not external experiences. In other words, there is no out there to speak of. Such a notion would certainly come across as strange or even absurd to some, if not most people. Be that as it may, the outlook I’m speaking of is gaining increasing notoriety and more and more people are coming to practice it. It’s a method known as ho’oponopono, and it’s been practiced on the Hawaiian Islands for generations.
