Surviving A Divorce By Focusing On You

Have you recently gone through a divorce? Sometimes getting back on your feet may seem like the hardest thing to do. But you have to pick yourself up and get on with your life. You were person before you relationship and you will be one after. The challenge is finding out who that person is.

The first thing to do is to put down the book titled ‘how to get ex back.’ Immediately running back to the ex is no always the solution. Also take back the fancy beauty perfume and no to getting a tattoo that says ‘I’m sorry’. Take this time to think about you rather than her.

High school might actually be a good place to start (but definitely not for your next mate). Pull out your yearbook, and if you can bear to look at the pictures, try to remember what you were like. Is your yearbook full of sketches? Maybe you should take an art class. Were you on the track team? Maybe an afternoon jog might make you feel better. Thinking back to a younger and hopefully happier you can help you discover yourself.

Another good thing to do is hang out with friends. If possible hang out with friends that did not know your husband. That way you can focus on having a good time and not his memory. Staying social will give you new happy memories to focus on. Your husband may have been your only social outlet. That outlet must be replaced.

In weddings there is something old and something new. Following a divorce, there should always be something new. Take this time to learn that something new through a class or perhaps just simply a new book. This little step will help you feel like a new person and might even make you one also.

Healing from a divorce is all about becoming a whole person again. A marriage is a union of two people into one. Divorce is the painful separation of that union. What results is to people who have been connected but are now individual again. Building that broken individual will make you stronger and happier.

Although it may not seem that easy right now recovering from a divorce can happen. The trick is to fall in love with you, and everything else will fall back into place.
